Boiler Installation East Kilbride

Anyone with the right ticket can hang a boiler on a wall. Installing one properly means sizing it to the actual heat loss of your house, checking the gas supply will carry the load, working out where the flue can legally terminate, and balancing the radiators afterwards so the back bedroom heats at the same rate as the living room. Over 30 years in the boiler industry is mostly 30 years of learning where those details get skipped.

That last step is the one most often skipped, and it is the reason plenty of people end up with a brand-new boiler and a house that still feels cold at one end. We balance every system we install and demonstrate the controls at your kitchen table before we pack up.

What a proper installation includes

Every installation we do starts with a heat loss assessment rather than a guess based on bedrooms. That tells us the output the house actually needs, which is very often lower than the unit people expect to be sold.

We then check the gas supply. A lot of older East Kilbride properties run on 15mm gas pipe that was fine for a back boiler but will not carry a modern high-output combi. Where the run needs upsizing to 22mm we include it in the quote rather than discovering it on the day and asking for more money.

Central heating installation

If you are putting heating into an extension, a loft conversion or a property that has never had it, the boiler is the last decision, not the first. We start with the room-by-room heat requirement, size the radiators to match, then pick a boiler that can carry the total.

Getting that order right is what stops you paying for an oversized unit that short-cycles all winter. It is also what allows weather compensation and modern controls to actually save you money rather than just adding an app to your phone.

Radiator sizing is where a heating system is won or lost. A correctly sized radiator on a lower flow temperature will heat a room more cheaply than an undersized one running flat out.

The four brands we install

We install four brands rather than whatever is cheapest that week. The deciding factors are reliability in Scottish conditions, the length of warranty we can register as accredited installers, and whether we can get a part from a Glasgow trade counter the same morning if something ever goes wrong.

• Worcester Bosch: Greenstar 4000 and 8000. Up to a 12-year warranty and the strongest parts availability locally.
• Ideal Heating: Logic Max and Vogue Max. Also up to 12 years, usually a little keener on price for the same cover.
• Navien: NCB700 ON series. Excellent hot water delivery, worth it if shower performance is the priority.
• Vokera: Easi-Heat Plus. Up to 10 years and the sensible pick when budget is the deciding factor.

Installation day, start to finish

We arrive between 8 and 9am, dust sheets go down and the water and gas go off. The old unit comes out first, then we make good the pipework, install the new boiler, run the flush and install the filter.

Most straight installs are commissioned and balanced by mid-afternoon. We then run through the controls with you, hand over the paperwork, take the old boiler and all packaging away, and hoover up. Nothing is left for you to dispose of.

Your Gas Safe notification and Building Standards certificate are submitted the same day and arrive by email.
